As much as I love AMD you might wanna go with a NVIDIA Graphics card, That's my opinion though.

My current (shitty) build has a NVIDIA card, and I planned to get another NVIDIA, but my budget was 1000, and now it's about 1400, so I upgraded to the 7970. It was hard to decide to not go with NVIDIA, though.

ehhh I might go with an i5 3570k for your CPU, its a bit more expensive but definitely worth it. However if you live near a microcenter you can get one for only 5 dollars more than your current CPU! You can also save money by buying a CPU and a Mobo together at microcenter. If you do decide to change it remember to pick a new compatible mobo.

Also that case is ugly as fuck but thats just based on opinion

EDIT: Reviewed your build, and that CPU cooler seems way overkill. I'd get a coolermaster hyper 212 and put the saved money towards a better CPU, whether it be AMD or Intel. Everything else looks good though.

I'd try showing this to /r/buildapc on reddit and see what they think. They know their shit. I learned everything I know about building computers from there.

Oh and for some reason your link brought me to a red case, the black NZXT isnt so bad

I overkilled the cooler on purpose, as I have seen what happens without a decent cooler. I got paranoid.

I checked the core, my current build was pretty much all I had. I couldn't afford that upgrade without ditching something. I might go with the cheaper cooler, but I think I'll stay overkill, as I plan to overclock as much as I can. Hopefully.

The red case was my original plan, but I saw the black one, and there was a 20$ off discount code, and I was pretty sure the picture of the red one would be inaccurate, so I edited the post.

I might post on /r/buildapc, but I'm not entirely sure. I've been doing my work here, and I really only wanted a few opinions on this. I'll probably do it anyways.

K, I still think that a cheaper cooler would do fine for that CPU no matter how much you OC'd, but I could be wrong, thats why I recommended /r/buildapc

Also, I run a stock CPU cooler on my non overclocked i5, so I assume the 212 would do fine on your CPU

Care to cite your source? I highly doubt sli'd 650s would outperform a 7970. Also, vram doesn't add up when you SLI, so 2 sli'd cards with 2 vram each still equals 2 vram :eng101:

Do you understand how SLI works? It doesn't matter if they have seperate VRAM, since SLI'd they can each render half of the screen, and that makes your point, well, pointless.

Hmm, maybe you're right. I'm still curious were you saw two 650's outperforming a 7970. A 7970 could probably outperform 2 660ti's, let alone a 650. The big thing that limits cards 660ti and below is the smaller memory bus, and SLI'ing doesn't help with that.

Oh and you can't even SLI a 650 :frog:

If he's just using it to play games 8gigs is plenty. He won't need more ram unless he plans on doing some intense photo or video editing.

Yeah, I missed that on the 650's. At any rate he can get a better card than what he's got there, considering 3GB VRAM is pretty lame compared to other cards going at the same price with 4GB and better hardware specs. (Some comparisons on newegg should tell this pretty well)
